What is it About?

This blog will be an update on projects I am currently working on during my Masters Photograghy Degree. There will be current themes and ideas floating from my mind. I will be uploading and sharing articles and links from designers, artists and photographers that are of particular interest.

I am currently working on a research project about Urban Decay and  Dereliction based on the local area. I will researching the demographics of the area, the ongoing impact of historical events, economic issues such as the current recession, recent and proposed redevelopments. The idea came about during the summer of 2009 when i was working as beach cleaner. I realised during this time of employment how much of the area still is not receiving the full benefit of recent and past redevelopment, and how the current economic climate has affected the area with increased unemployment and other issues that have affected the local population.

This research will assist in my decision as to which direction i would like to focus my major photography project. I would like this blog to be a reflective  journal to explore different paths and approaches linked to my project. I would also welcome any comments or suggestions from readers as i consider it is important to gain actual feedback and advice from  individuals locally and worldwide.
